The Southwest Wisconsin - Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Brock Waterman as the primary business consultant to Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, and Richland counties.
Brock is an expert in helping existing business expand and improve their business management and adept at helping business startups as well as. Since starting the job he has also assisted clients with business purchases. Brock’s areas of knowledge include, but are not limited to:
-- Financial projections, financial analysis/management, risk management
-- Strategic and tactical planning and execution and process improvement
-- Business model development and analysis, lean startup, customer discovery
-- Results driven marketing including website planning, social media, search engine optimization (SEO)
Brock’s life and business experience are especially suited to helping businesses in southwestern Wisconsin. As a southwestern Wisconsin native, he knows the area well and has worked with many family businesses. Brock has worked extensively with businesses at all stages helping existing businesses grow and develop, and new businesses launch successfully.
Before joining the Southwest Wisconsin SBDC, Brock supported small businesses in several ways. At the UW-Platteville Pioneer Launch Lab, he consulted with and mentored students, faculty, staff, and alumni to develop their entrepreneurial ideas. As part of the UW-Extension Ideadvance Seed Grant Entrepreneur program, he imparted knowledge of lean startup principles and the business model canvas. Brock also owned a small business consulting firm that specialized in business models, financial management, website planning, social media and web search optimization. Lastly, he has been heavily involved in the growth of his parents’ chopper box repair business, in Boscobel and his wife’s massage business, in Platteville.
Brock has a Business Administration degree from UW-Platteville with an emphasis in finance and two Associate degrees from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Computer Information Systems (Programmer Analyst and Microcomputer Specialist).
Brock is now accepting clients. The best way to refer new clients is to have them sign up online. Once the online form has been submitted both Brock and the client will receive an email with the client’s information.
